New from Aqualung-possibly the lightest 1st and 2nd stage on the market. But don't be fooled, lightness does not equal a lack of quality!
Weighing in at only 26oz (din) or 31oz (A-clamp) the Mikron is the ideal companion for the travelling diver. The performance of the Mikron is not compromised by the compact as both the first and second stage are balanced providing an exceptional breathe.
The primary comes with an unique braided 'Aquaflex' hose weighing only 5oz further reducing that strain on your baggage allowance.
The Mikron comes as either din or a clamp and has one high pressure port and four medium pressure ports!

'EXCELLENT REG., STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. ' |
|
| Strengths: |
Very little effort required to breath, with a good flow of air, not a tongue flapping blast and the purge works just fine. I've tried a few regs and found some quite wet in some positions but the Mikron is a good dry breath in all orientations. The second stage is very light and comfortable (for me anyway) and there is no jaw fatigue or sideways pull thanks to the Miflex hose supplied with this unit. The airflow control on the unit is effective, but to be honest, it's probably more useful on the octopus as it helps prevent freeflow on. entering the water (the giant-step-in). |
| Weaknesses: |
I was luck enough to get a Mikron octopus free when I bought the primary, but it came with a standard hose, not a Miflex hose, which seemed a bit of a let down somehow. Yes, I know, that's being very picky! |

A first class reg in every way and by far the best I've tried (And I've a list of some fancy regs that I've been lucky enough to try!). I don't doubt the long term reliability, after all, the Mikron has been built by Aqualung who know a thing or two! |
